Planting Project

I really enjoy working out in the yard (a trait I inherited from my mom) so I tried my hand at a planting project the other day. I made this using 6 pots, a steel rod, flowers, and soil. I stole the idea from my mom who stole it from her neighbor so you are more than welcome to steal it from me! I thought it was a cute idea-something a little different for the flower garden.

It is really cute. Are you going to tell us how you did it?

Haha, sure. I bought the pots and pole from Lowes. You'll have to cut the pole in half with a saw because it's 10 feet long and you only need 5 ft ($4.00). Pots come in different sizes and colors. I bought 8 in. diameter in black since it matches my shutters ($3 each). You also need to drill a hole just a little bigger in diameter than the pole into the bottom of each pot. Then, just simply stick the pole in the ground and hammer it down unti there is about 3.5 feet exposed. Put 2 pots on the bottom to build a strong base. Fill it will soil and flowers. Then put another one on top and do the same. There really isn't a trick to getting them to zig-zag. You just pull them to the side and after filling them with soil and flowers they pretty much stay that way. Hope that helps!
