Brent's first soccer season is over and it was so much fun!! Brent went into this season not knowing much about soccer and not knowing a thing about playing on a team. He left the season a pretty darn good lil' soccer player (if I might say so myself) and learned a lot about teamwork and good sportsmanship. I am really impressed at how much the entire team improved over 2 months. I mean, these are 3-year-olds we are talking about here. Lesson of the Season: Don't EVER underestimate your child.
The last 3 games Brent played, he scored 3 goals in each game. I believe this is called a "hat trick"?? The last game, I was able to record 2 of the 3 goals he scored. They are both on this video (right back-to-back).
After their last game the coach gave each child a medal and said a few words to praise them and their hard work. He told Brent that he is the toughest little kid he has ever seen and would be honored to have him back on his team next year. If Brent is nothing else, he is tough. (He gets that from me ;) Love this kid!!
On the way home, I explained to Brent that that was his last game and asked him what he wanted to do next. He told me he wants to play on the big field with the big kids (the 12(+) year olds). Oh boy!
